The number of long-term care facilities for the elderly has grown abruptly and second Lima (2005), the Brazilian Society of Geriatrics and Gerontology (SBGG) who adopted the term “Institution for the Aged” (ILPI) to designate the type of institution formerly called Asylum. Can you contact several situations where older people are totally dependent, titled as bedridden, which are over the time unable to perform the basic activities, thus resulting in significant functional losses with the activities of Use important relevance in the provision of quality of life for institutionalized subjects. The objective of this report is to describe the experience lived within three months of practical class in a long term care facility with the application of cognitive stimulation activities, sensory and consequently favoring the social interaction of the subjects. Initially a survey was conducted of older how many there were in the institution and then analyzed where possible activities were going to happen, as was also heard from each individual individually in the search to know what their main needs and what actually They would like to do, as was also applied the Mini Mental State Examination where we see the need to implement activities aimed at cognitive stimulation to make it possible to preserve and / or maintain cognitive levels they present. Continuing, we realized that there were some compromises sensory level, where we also use activities for the rehabilitation sensitive (tactile, auditory, gustatory and olfactory). Later, we found that older spent much time in a room of the institution, but there was no interaction between the two, therefore, decided to organize the site according to the affinities for them mentioned having as perspective building the relational capacity despite being bedridden. It was observed positive feedback on the implementation of activities, given that the main difficulties were linked to cognition. It was observed in some cases the more physical limitations had lower cognitive performance, due to the established introspection and self titling incapable. By contrast it observed the existence of individuals with physical limitations, but with significant cognitive performance, but when done raising institution of time, they had less time. As regards the body perception and sensation encountered damage, it is believed to be due to the restriction of performing the most basic activities of daily life. When the dialogue established between the bedridden found to be a barrier initially, but over the activities the rapport was noticeable and relevant in the relational constitution. Initially the elaborate activities not surtiam successful run with the passage of applications was observed that was gradually creating what we classify as bond and thus the applications began to flow the more dynamic the most participatory activities became. In the implementation of activities with a maximum of eighteen bedridden elderly only two refused to perform the activities, stating that only needed to be heard and with these it was possible to carry out the memory rescue through their stories. We note that to realize the location changes was possible to establish an interaction between them, the exchange of experiences fostered social interaction and therefore provides the same self-esteem and satisfaction in being able to share important moments in their respective lives. It was also observed that even in institutionalization conditions and significant functional losses can carry out activities in pursuit of reframing the subject, making them autonomous and independent. It is believed that the use of activities in long term care facilities results in significant benefits to prevent the overall decline of the subject in institutionalized aging process. Thus, the proposed activities had the purpose to rescue and maintain the functional capacity of the subjects in question with a view to provide better quality of life to them, proposing to these meaning their lives favoring self understanding productive individuals, independent and autonomous in their daily lives.
