This research is the result of a study conducted in the city of Maceió in Alagoas from March 2013 to September 2014, it aimed to understand the impacts of transgender identities in sociability of travestis and transgender women and reflect the implications for the field the Social Occupational Therapy. Qualitative study which was used three sources for registers and production the data: field diary, participant observation and focus group. Data were analyzed using content analysis. Participated in this study five members of the Associação de Travestis e Transexuais de Alagoas. Results: The travestis and transsexual woman participants had ages ranging 21-48 years old, living in poor neighborhoods of the city of Maceio and held up the income generated by the night prostitution. The display of results was given through three themes: the family as the first group that excluded; The school as a place of reproduction of prejudice and discrimination; The street that welcomes and weakens. As in other studies1, was identified that transgender identities when expressed in society tend to push the travestis and transsexuals woman for a socially vulnerable situation, characterized by fragility of the bonds of work or social relations, and determining a restriction in social participation with equal rights, characterizing the condition of social disadvantage. Spaces that should be configured as important supports in life, such as family and school, become spaces of exclusion from the earliest manifestations of difference2. It is concluded that at the various rights violations that these people suffer, the reality presented creates challenges for professionals, including occupational therapists, who deal with the confrontation of exclusion and vulnerability in the direction of thinking strategies to prevent or reverse this situation. The interventional proposals in Occupational Therapy Social with this population require the creation of intersectoral and interdisciplinary projects, establishing connections between different areas of public policies and several areas of knowledge to create a more effective field, technical and political intervention.
