Biography & Research Interest

Welcome Professor Lev V. Eppelbaum to Join the Editorial Board of American Journal of Geographical Research and Reviews.

Lev V. Eppelbaum received the M.Sc in Geophysics (1982) at the Oil Academy in Baku and Ph.D. (1989) at the Inst. of Geophysics in Baku, Georgian Acad. Sci. and Moscow Mining Academy. From 1982 to 1990 he worked as a Researcher and Senior Researcher at the Southern Branch of the All-Union Geophysical Prospecting Inst. in Baku. During 1991-1992 he had Postdoctoral Studies at the Dept. of Geophysics, Tel Aviv University (TAU). From 1993 to 2005 he occupied positions of Researcher, Senior Researcher and Senior Lecturer; in February 2005 he received at this Dept. a position of Research Professor.

He is author of 355 publications, including 9 books: “Interpretation of Geophysical Fields in Complicated Environments”, (Kluwer Acad. Publ., Ser.: Modern Approaches in Geophysics, 1996), “Some Physical Foundations of Geodynamics” (Kedem Publ., Israel, 2001), “Iron and its unique role in the Earth evolution” (Mexican Geoph. Soc. Monogr. Ser., 2006), “Geophysical Studies in the Caucasus” (Springer, 2012), “Applied Geothermics” (Springer, 2014), and “Pressure and Temperature Well Testing” (CRC, Taylor & Francis), “Geosciences of Azerbaijan” – Vol. I: “Geology of Azerbaijan”, Vol. II: “Economic Minerals & Applied Geophysics” (Springer, 2016, 2017), “Potential Geophysical Fields” (Elsevier, 2018), 147 articles, 60 Proceedings and 142 abstracts presented at conferences (Dec. 06, 2017).

Prof. L. Eppelbaum main research interests include advanced processing and interpretation of potential and quasi-potential geophysical fields, paleomagnetic reconstructions, geodynamics, tectonics, and integrated interpretation of geophysical and related data.

He is a member of the International Commission “Rotation of the Earth”and member of the Webmed Central Ecology Advisory Board.

His ResearchGate score is 43.03 (Dec. 06, 2017). He elected as Foreign Member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (January 2017) and received a rank of “Knight of the Science and Arts” of the same Academy (June 2017).
