We studied the specifics of post-industrial strategies of social development and transformation of social institutions, government management models in the context of globalization in today’s industrialized systems. The article analyzes the dynamics and prospects of evolution of the self-organizing systems of society, governance, structure and functioning of the algorithm model of direct democracy and civilian government. In planning of the social changes the emphasis should be placed on the analysis of the values and on the analysis of new social institutions that will allow to understand the real mechanisms of the practical construction of a new global society. Institutional revolution should go far beyond the expectations of traditional social theory in depth and breadth. From the point of view of historical progress every new stage of human society evolution is quite different from the previous one that creates prerequisites for new material and spiritual integration of humanity. In the article it is also analyzed the philosophical, educational, economic and political trends, perspectives and forms of further social development on the basis of creation of new forms of humanism. Murat Öner2 1MA Student, International Burch University 2Assistant Professor, International Burch University The film The Hours directed by Stephen Daldry is based on an experimental novel in which three women from detached places and eras are interlinked by the book Mrs Dalloway. Given that, its sense of simultaneity and spatial heterogeneity is quite obvious. Adopting the notion of Heterotopia proposed by Michel Foucault, the current paper analyzes the juxtaposed construction of space and time in The Hours. It examines how the editing, recurring imagery and coherent motives in The Hours function in order to construct heterotopian space and to shed light upon central themes such as alienation, sexual identity and death. Review Article of International Journal of Social Research Fake News in the American Sociological Review Claims that Asian Americans Don’t Really Value Education* Arthur Sakamoto1 and Yoonjeon Kim2 1Department of Sociology, Texas A&M University, 4351 TAMU, College Station, TX 77843-4351 2Graduate School of Education, University of California, Berkeley, 3533 Tolman Hall, Berkeley, CA 94720 Lizardo (2017) seeks to improve the sociological analysis of culture by conceptualizing the distinction between “nondeclarative” versus “declarative” aspects of culture. Lizardo uses this contrast to critique the view that Asian values have any effects on Asian American educational attainment. We show that Lizardo’s summary of empirical studies of Asian American educational attainment is misconstrued. He misinterprets statistical findings and inadequately considers the Asian values model. Lizardo claims that Asian values do not have effects because not all Asian Americans share a Confucian heritage. However, the Asian values model is applicable to many familistic cultures including some non-Confucian Asian societies. Furthermore, Lizardo’s emphasis on the “nondeclarative” versus “declarative” aspects of culture is of limited relevance to understanding differences in educational attainment among youth. Lizardo assumes that values must be “declarative,” but basic sociology stipulates that children slowly internalize their values over the course of their socialization that is heavily influenced by parental values especially in the case of Asian Americans.
