Federal University of Sergipe/UFS. Lagarto-Sergipe, Brasil1. To analyze the stress factors for the development of burnout syndrome in nurses of the hospital area. Integrative review with research on the electronic databases LILACS, BIREME and SCIELO. Through controlled descriptors were selected Brazilian publications focusing on registed nurses working and after application of inclusion and exclusion criterias the final sample were nine cientifical articles. The predominant stressors were: emotional exhaustion, insusficiente remuneration, lack of human resources and excessive working hours. NUTRITIONAL STATUS OF SCHOOL CHILDREN FROM THE LOW AMAZON RIVER

Research Article of Research Journal of Pharmacology and Pharmacy NUTRITIONAL STATUS OF SCHOOL CHILDREN FROM THE LOW AMAZON RIVER SANTOS, S.F.S1, DUARTE, M.G1, MINATTO, G2, CARVALHO, A1, PAULO, T.R.S1, FREITAS JÚNIOR, I.F3 Federal University of Amazonas/UFAM. Parintins - AM, Brasil1. Federal University of Santa Catarina/UFSC, Florianópolis–SC, Brasil2. Estadual University Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho/UNESP3. To investigate the nutritional status of children (3-19 years) of both sexes of Parintins, AM. This is a cross-sectional epidemiological survey conducted in 2013 in public schools linked to the School Health Program (PSE). The nutritional status of children was assessed by body mass indicators, height and BMI adequate for age, according to the growth curves of the World Health Organization. Descriptive measures and comparison between proportions were adopted, with 5 % significance level. The prevalence of nutritional inadequacy according to indicator of low height for age highlighted the prevalence of stunting, which proportions are different between boys (16.2 %) and girls (83.9 %) in all age groups. Stunting among girls warns for the need for preventive measure to avoid malnutrition and growth deficits. Keywords: anthropometry, body growth, child health, adolescent health, Height-age ...

Athropometric Standards of Children Assisted by Ngo, According to the Growth Curves of WHO

Article of Research Journal of Pharmacology and Pharmacy Athropometric Standards of Children Assisted by Ngo, According to the Growth Curves of WHO CAVALCANTE, N.R.S1; NEVES, L.N.S1; FREIRE, A.G.1; SILVA, K.S1; RAMOS, R.C.F3; SILVA, E.V1; ANJOS, F.B.R1. Federal University of Pernambuco/UFPE1, Federal University of Pernambuco/UFPE2. Based on the socioeconomic conditions are, in most cases, factors crucial to the growth and development of children and adolescents, this study aims to analyze the demographics of children served by PROCRIU NGO, located in the City Recife Pernambuco. The height of children was checked with fixed metal anthropometer to the wall, according to the WHO criteria, the Frankfurt plane; while the weight was obtained by positioning the center of the scale, with little clothing as possible; the data (height, weight and BMI) were recorded and later applied to the WHO curves. The percentage of children between z-scores (+3) and (+2) was 11.3 %, indicating that there is an obesity, according to their age, height and wheight10. The children overweight (z-score corresponded to 18 % of the studied Among these children, 61 % are eutrophic, rating given by z-scores: > (- 2) and <(+1) have children with unsatisfactory weight account for 9 % of the total, with 4.5 % classified as thin and markedly thin as 4.5 % Keywords: anthropometry, WHO, malnutrition, undernourishment ...

Antioxidant and sub-chronic toxicity studies on some biochemical parameters of the extract of Rhipsalis neves armondii K. Schuum. (Cactaeceae)

Research Article of Research Journal of Pharmacology and Pharmacy Antioxidant and sub-chronic toxicity studies on some biochemical parameters of the extract of Rhipsalis neves armondii K. Schuum. Schuum. (Cactaceae) aerial parts preparation is used to treat inflammatory disorders and cancer in Nigerian ethnomedicine hence the need to study its antioxidant properties and to evaluate the toxicity profile. Methods: The dried, ground, aerial parts of Rhipsalis neves armondii were extracted with a mixture of methanol and dichloromethane (1:1). The obtained extract (RNE) was employed for antioxidant and sub chronic toxicity studies. Antioxidant activity was determined using two in vitro models: ferricyanide reducing power assay and 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging assay, while ascorbic acid was used as standard antioxidant agent. Sub chronic toxicity tests were performed on some hematological and biochemical parameters such as total leukocyte count, differential white blood count and levels of the liver marker enzymes, in rats. Results: The results showed that the RNE exhibited potent reducing power activity with mean absorbance value of 1.34 compared to 0.85 of ascorbic acid. The extract also produced a concentration-dependent percentage increase in DPPH radical scavenging activity at tested doses with IC40 values of 360 µg/ml and 130 µg/ml doses for RNE and ascorbic acid, respectively. There was no significant difference (p<0.05) in the liver marker enzymes (ALT, AST and ALT) and hematological parameters (neutrophils, lymphocyte, monocyte, eosinophil) of the animals at tested doses of the extract. The results also ...
