Welcome Dr Aristidis P. BITZENIS to Join the Editorial Board of International Journal of Trade and Policy.

Dr Bitzenis is a FULL Time – Full Professor of International Entrepreneurship at the University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki (Greece) at the Department of International and European Studies, and a Tutor in the Hellenic Open University of Patras (Greece). He was a lecturer at CITY College (Affiliated Institution of Sheffield University, UK), and at New York College in Thessaloniki (Greece), and an Assistant Professor (407/80) in entrepreneurship in Greece, and transition economics (privatisation and restructuring policies / financial reforms in the Central and East European countries), and Greek-Balkan economic relations at Democritus University of Thrace, Komotini (Greece). His main research field includes FDI, entrepreneurship, privatisation, globalisation, the European business environment and corporate restructuring in South-East Europe. He has published extensively and participated in various conferences in his research field. His research record and forthcoming publications include twelve books (six of which are in the Greek language), more than 25 book chapters, 15 entries in encyclopaedias, more than 40 journal articles, more than 30 papers in conference proceedings and he received 15 research grants. One of his latest book is an edited volume titled Mergers and Acquisitions as the Pillar of Foreign Direct Investment, published by Palgrave Macmillan, USA in August 2012. Other books are The Balkans: FDI and EU Accession, Ashgate Publishing Ltd, UK, Reflections on the Greek Sovereign Debt Crisis, Cambridge Scholars Publisher, UK, etc. He is an active scientific author since he wrote and published more than 60 papers in international journals with impact factor such as Journal of Socio- Economics, East-West Journal of Economics and Business, Journal of East-West Economics and Business, The Social Science Journal, Post-Communist Economies, Global Business & Economics Review (GBER), τo South East European Journal of Economics (SEEJE), Agora without frontiers, Eastern European Economics, Emerging Markets Finance & Trade, Journal of Small Business and Enterprise Development, European Business Review, International Journal of Knowledge, Culture and Change in Organisations, Southeast European and Black Sea Studies, Economics, Management, and Financial Markets Journal, International Journal of Trade and Global Markets, International Journal of Monetary Economics and Finance (IJMEF), Journal of Economic Issues (JEI), Studies in Economics and Finance (SEF), Int. J. Economic Policy in Emerging Economies, etc. He supervises graduate and PhD students on issues with regard to international business, entrepreneurship, transition economies, the European Union or foreign direct investments. He has also a great experience in master programs since 1999 until today (teaching both in Greek and English) and has supervised 8 PhD students and 150 dissertations in master level (both in Greek and English). Finally, he has very good knowledge in research issued (took part in 15 research programs) in one of which he was the coordinator with a 600.000 euro budget and a 4 year duration (Thalis program). He is an active research officer since he is participating in various European Union funded research programmes such as Entrepreneurship and Innovation (DASTA)(Preparing Innovative Academic Material FOR ENTREPRENEURSHIP), HELLENIC ACADEMIC OPENCOURSES, THALIS (EDUCATION AND LIFE-LONG LEARNING), EGNATIA VAE Cross- border vertical axes of entrepreneurship in support of youth and women, Encouragement of Entrepreneurship & Actions that Cope with the Restructuring of the Economy, Enhancement of the competitiveness and restructuring of the food subsectors through benchmarking F.IND Consulting
