Biography & Research Interest

Welcome Dr. Elena Cavarretta to Join the Editorial Board of American Journal of Cardiology Research and Reviews.

Elena Cavarretta graduated in Medicine and Surgery and obtained her PhD in Clinical Pathology, University of Rome Sapienza, with a dissertation on “New diagnostic tools for left ventricular hypertrophy: biomolecular and echocardiographic techniques”. Since December 1st 2011, she has been serving as assistant professor at the department of Medical-Surgical Sciences and Biotechnology, University of Rome Sapienza, and obtained the national scientific qualification as Associate Professor. She is currently involved in cardiovascular basic and clinical research. In particular, dr. Cavarretta’s scientific interests are microRNA role as biomarkers in cardiovascular pathologies in particular hypertrophic cardiomyopathies, cardiovascular adaptation to physical training, cardiovascular non-invasive imaging, as real-time three dimensional echocardiography and cardiac MRI, assessment of left and right ventricular function. She is author of four book chapters and 40 indexed papers, with a Scopus h-index of 13 and 609 total citation (Orcid ID: http://orcid.org/0000-0003-0221-6000, Scopus author ID: 14051627100). She participated at several research projects, including national research project and as principal investigator in grants financed by the Sapienza University of Rome.
