ACADEMICS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  1. M. Pharm. ProjectQSAR Study, Synthesis and Pharmacological Evaluation of Derivatives of 5-Benzenesulphonamido-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-sulphonamide.”

Description: The project focused on QSAR study and synthesis of acetazolamide derivatives with sulphonamide. The synthesis involves the disulphonamide derivatives and analysis by UV, IR, NMR and Mass Spectroscopy of synthesized products. The derivatives provide usefulness in treatment of epilepsy and shows reduction in diuretic activity. The aim was to verify the usefulness of acetazolamide in quest for new antiepileptic drugs. The thesis work involved QSAR analysis of thiadiazole derivatives for antiepileptic activity and designing of new potent derivatives followed by synthesis and evaluation for activity by electroshock method. The synthesized derivative shows moderate to potent antibacterial and antifungal activity also. The experimental results provide valuable clues for curing the bacterial and fungal infections using the disulphonamide thiadiazole derivatives.

Familiar With – HPLC (Schimadzu),  FT-IR And UV- Visible Spectrophotometer, Animal Handling, Microbial assay techniques, etc.

  1. Computers:

A Good working knowledge of All Ms Office applications, Internet Explorer, and softwares like Chem office ultra 7.0 and 8.0, MDL ISIS Draw 11.0, ChemDraw 12.0, Syatat, PRISM, INSTAT, and other pharmacology and chemistry (drug designing) related softwares.

III. Industrial Exposure/ Visits:

Undergone two months industrial training in Formulation and Quality Control department at Noble Drugs Ltd., Nashik.
