Welcome Dr Paolo Roberti di Sarsina to Join the Editorial Board of International Journal of Traditional and Complementary Medicine.
Paolo Roberti di Sarsina, M.D, holds a Degree in Medicine and Surgery, and is a Specialist in Psychiatry, and has worked in several psychiatry units in various mental healthcare centres in the Italian National Health System, carrying out clinical psychiatry and activities for the integration of Traditional, Complementary and Alternative Medicine in the NHS. Paolo Roberti di Sarsina is also a researcher and a prolific author of many published medical articles and books, as well as a founder of charities, non-profit foundations and initiatives in Italy for Non-Conventional Medicine and Person Centered Healthcare. His work in these two causes extends into various associations and networks internationally, as he holds their membership and acts as a director or a co-ordinator for some of them.
Paolo Roberti di Sarsina plays a fundamental role in Italian and European Traditional, Complementary, Alternative and Non Conventional Medicine. He served from 2006 to 2013 as the Expert for Non-Conventional Medicine, High Council of Health, Ministry of Health, Italy. Paolo Roberti di Sarsina served as referee for documents about TCAM in the World Health Organization
The representative of Italy in the “North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Science and Technology Organization (STO), Task Force, Human Factors and Medicine (STO-TR-HFM) 195, Integrative Medicine Interventions for Military Personnel”, 2010-2014.
Italian member of the European Union 7th Framework Programme (EU FP7) funded “CAMbrella Consortium, a pan-European research network for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM)”, 2010-2012.
He is involved in the EU funded “China and Europe Taking Care of Healthcare Solutions Consortium”, CHETCH, 2014-2017, under EU 7th Framework Programme (FP7), People Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA), International Research Staff Exchange Scheme (IRSE).
He also participated in the European Union Actions COST-action E39 “Forests, Trees and Human Health & Wellbeing” (Domain: Forests, their Products and Services), 2004-2008 Member Working Group 1: Physical and mental health and well-being.
He is member of the Scientific Advisory Board of International Network for Development of Research in Ayurveda, INDRA.
Dr Paolo Roberti di Sarsina, MD, is the sole Italian researcher whose articles are quoted in the recent WHO Traditional Medicine Strategy 2014-2023.
He is responsible for Complementary and Alternative Medicine and Contacts to Patient Organisations of the European Association for Predictive, Preventive and Personalised Medicine, EPMA.
He is the Chairperson for Traditional, Complementary and Alternative Medicine of the European Society for Person Centered Healthcare, ESPCH.
He is member of the International Advisory Board of Nordic Integrative Medicine Foundation.
He is member of the Scientific Committee of the Italian Charity “Giù le Mani dai Bambini” (Hands Off Our Children), the Italian campaign of pharmacovigilance for the pediatric age towards the use of those psychoactive molecules dangerous for a child or adolescent.
He is founder and president of the Charity for Person Centered Medicine, based in Bologna, Italy, the sole Italian Charity devoted to the mission of Person Centered Medicine. The Charity has been raised to Moral Entity, according to the Italian Law.
Dr. Paolo Roberti di Sarsina is member of the Italian Press.

Paolo Roberti di Sarsina currently is the chairperson for Traditional, Complementary and Alternative Medicine of the Observatory and Methods for Health, University of Milano-Bicocca, Milano, Italy and is the Coordinator of the Master´s Course “Healthcare Systems, Traditional and Non-Conventional Medicine” in the same University.
