Welcome Dr. Poliana Mendes de Souza to Join the Editorial Board of International Journal of Food and Nutrition Research.
Dr. Poliana Mendes de Souza is a Bachelor in Food Engineering (PUCPR, 20015), master in Food Engineering (UNICAMP, 2007), and PhD in Food Technology (UPV, 2012). She also held the title of especialist in Agroengineering (UPV, 2009), and conduced a postdoctoral study in Food Science (UFLA, 2017). She is a adjoint professor at the UFVJM (Brazil) where she is the responsible for the Food Microbiology and Food Toxicology areas linked to the Bachelor in Food Engineering formation; and she is a permament professor of Postgraduation Program in Food Science and Technology. She is responsible for the research group of Emerging technologies, and currently advise 6 masters students and 5 gratuation students. Her researches are focused on the use of new technologies to improuve the safety and quality of foods. The technologies mainly exploited are ultraviolet-C, microwave and gamma irradiation.
