Welcome Dr. Shikha Thakur to Join the Editorial Board of Journal of Microbiome.
Technical Expertise: Microbiological techniques
• Isolation, purification, characterization, identification (biochemical characterization) preservation and maintenance of microbial cultures from soil, water, air and seeds.
• Staining of microorganisms viz., Gram’s staining, acid fast staining, endospore and other staining.
• Spread plate, Streak plate technique and Culture preservation techniques.
• Environmental Bio-techniques (BOD, COD, Coliform tests).
• Isolation of nitrogen fixing bacteria from root nodules of leguminous plants.
• Isolation of phosphorus solubilizing bacteria from roots and soil.
• Isolation of Pathogenic and Non-pathogenic fungi from the phylloplane of leaves.
• Different plant pathological techniques such as Pathogenicity testing, Colony interaction, Well-in-agar techniques, spore germination, biochemical tests etc.
