Educational Achievement in Health Curriculum in Stages Mandatory and Its Importance for Vocational Training: Experience Report

The health education discipline arises in order to guide the academic, for the different ways of doing education, seeking improvements in the quality of promoting health. There is ample evidence that the response of the individual recommendations, as the health action can not be explained only in terms of social stratification in which it occurs. This means that individuals belonging to the same class react differently about their own health in the same way that they respond differently to medical recommendations, thus requiring a psychological character of explanation. This, in turn, need to draw on the synergy of concepts and principles from different scientific areas5.The permanent education in health proposes the aggregation of learning, critical reflection on the work of clinical resolution and promoting public health. This has as guiding principles the relationship between education and work, changes in education and in health practices policies, production and dissemination of knowledge2. With the increase in life expectancy of individuals, change is also your health profile; instead of acute processes or death, become prevalent chronic diseases and their complications, such as loss of autonomy and functional independence, which in addition to demand it higher costs for health care, require a reordering of its priority actions4. Thus, the experience in stages in health education is essential to the integral formation of the student, considering that increasingly are required professionals with skills and well prepared, and transcends the limits of a mere fulfillment of academic requirements. The act of educating is an opportunity for personal and professional growth. Besides being an important tool for integration between university and community3 The stage is performed in the molded depth of the community, aiming to primarily reach the riverside communities, in all there are five course and among the most active are: nursing, speech therapy, occupational therapy and physiotherapy, because from the beginning the courses proposed interaction with the community, each course has a certain planning in their disciplines and there are times, especially in carrying out health education, which is oportunizado the inter- and multi-disciplinary work and we can see an even greater effectiveness in educational outcomes in developing educational activities in Health addressing aspects inherent to community health in this context the students organized themselves into groups and hold meetings and use as methods: illustrative figures, dynamics, slides and flipchart to facilitate the approach to the subject developed and met with the fishing community scheduled time around an almond tree on the edge of Pontal Lagoon, or closest parts of this community workplace, leaving them free to choose the place and time as a strategy to encourage the holding of the meeting. The stages have average duration of one to two months and depends on the curriculum of each course, they are addressed during this period topics such as DST’se AIDS, cancers, hepatitis and respiratory diseases, among others, always paying attention to the needs and suggestions proposed by the community. The discussion opens with the request of the community prior knowledge on the subject would be discussed that day, in a second stage with a language accessible to the target audience were transmitted and scientific information on the topic and questions, fishermen curiosities were formulated the next encontros. Through the actions taken we can see a considerable increase in the demand for health care community to update the vaccination card, greater flexibility to deal with issues such as prostate exam and câncerese yet every lecture is observed the increase in the number of people and thus greater motivation to carry out health education with comunidade. Even with the presence of the public and they are very participatory. There are challenges because the decrease with self care is still prevalent and noticeable in much of the community for this view was the implementation of public policies that view health education, seeks to reduce through health promotion the number of preventable diseases and improve the population’s quality of life, stimulating practical skills and promoting closer trainees students with the community and its way of life, preparing excellent professionals to work effectively in the community.
