This report aims to discuss the academic experiences of Occupational Therapy and Speech-Language Pathology in the PET-Health (Education for Work in Health Program) in the maternal and child category. The PET-Health was created as a initiative of the Health and Education Ministries, from the Interministerial ordinance nº 1.8022. It constitutes one of the inter sectorial actions directed to the fortification of basic attention and health vigilance, according to the principles and needs of the Unique Health System (SUS). This program has as an assumption the education for work based in the teaching-service-community integration1. Therefore, the PET-Health aims to develop actions in education in health and to link the university, in its teaching, research, service, and extension activities. The activities were developed at the Santa Monica School Hospital, located in Maceio, Alagoas, between April 2014 and January 2015, with weekly meetings and bimestral assemblies. Mothers and workers involved were the audience. Many approaches to realize the activities were used, such as: construction workshops of low cost resources to visual and auditive stimulation of the newborns, dynamic works, lectures (breast feeding, breast milk donation, etc.), leisure activities and ludotherapy.  It was noted that the activities developed during the project was relevant to the mothers who were at the maternity, since they could ask questions and learn low cost resources to help in the children care, furthermore, it was noted the satisfaction of the professionals with the actions developed in the sector, since the whole team was involved in the activities. The interventions had the aim to strength the actions of the SUS, preconized by the National Humanizing Politics (PNH). Launched in 2003, the PNH looks forward to put in practice the SUS principles in the daily life health services, changing the way of generating and caring. The PNH stimulates the communication among the gestors, professionals and users to build collective processes of coping power relations, work and affection that many times produce inhuman attitudes and practices that inhibits the autonomy and the responsibility of health professionals in their work and the users in the care of themselves. Along the experience in PET-Health it was noted the importance of integration of college students in health services to the academic education to the SUS consolidation. By this way, continuing the education at work favors the triad learning – student, professional, and user – narrowing the relation among the teams to construct the humanized work.
