The individuals in school environment learn habits and attitudes jointed to daily experiences, in this sense, education about heath assists the formation of a conscious society with regard to heath. Water-born diseases are linked with basic sanitation conditions and personal hygiene and are more usual during the childhood, which makes necessary a mobilization in schools to prevent it. The educational practice is fundamental for dissemination of new habits, providing health promotion through the teaching-learning process. That practice was intended to promote a reflection with the students about water-born diseases and its prophylaxis, emphasizing the handwashing and food washing. It is a experience report of a activity performed by the Liga Acadêmica de Educação em Saúde members at May 22 and 23, 2015 in a public school of Maceió-AL. Educational resources was build by means of a workshop, wich were: puppets, puzzles, memory games and coloring books. It was employed a observational and participatory methodology. It can be observed the importance of education in heath, not only for the target audience, but also for the personal development of the future educators involved. The children participation was positive for them and for the academics who sought to sensitize in the way that information could be understood. During the activity the students watched lectures and puppet theatre, they played with resources produced, they practiced the handwashing and received educational books produced. The subject was approached in a simple and dynamic manner, worrying always about pass on informations in accordance with population reality, making them participate in knowledge building, facilitating the understanding and information access. Therefore, activities like that enable the children awareness and are part of the process of society building, since them will become multiplier agentes of that information; about the activity, it was perceptible the public interest and participation on the subject, since it approaches daily matters. We hope that activities like that serve to guide the population about the importance in prevention of diseases.
