This report addresses the difficulties faced by LGBT people regarding the access and care in the health services shown by discrimination and prejudice. It is a students’ experience in the monitoring for “Ethnic and Racial Relations Education and Differences Affirmation Affairs” discipline at the State University of Health Sciences of Alagoas – UNCISAL. The experience took place in the midst of discussions held at Alagoas’ IV seminar on ethics, alterity, diversity, eugenics and health care, in the middle of 2015. The goal is to demonstrate the importance of training spaces in the university aimed for affirmative policies thematic for the LGBT community and others. The experience occurred with graduates of various health courses such as medicine, nursing, occupational therapy, physiotherapy and speech therapy during the seminar, considering discussions between the monitors in the study group, the lecture with a LGBT organization coordinator and the wheel conversation that took place then at the seminar. The experience was reflected based on theoretical frameworks of the area. It was evident the need to maintain and expand training spaces directed to respecting differences. The speech of the lecturer represented the voice of many users of the SUS members of the LGBT community. The thing that impressed the most was the outburst of the representative of the gay organization, highlighting the cruelty of cases involving prejudice, discrimination and homophobia in health services. Final Thoughts: The experience enabled realizing how important is the debate and discussions on affirmative SUS policies. Taking into account also the importance of respecting differences due to the need of humanization of healthcare systems. Taking as parameter the broader perspective of health, as advocated as a right of citizen by the health care for the LGBT population should not be considered only from the epidemiological point of view. Experience enables you to view how important is the debate and discussions on affirmative SUS policies. Taking into account also the importance of respecting differences due to the need of humanization of healthcare systems. Taking as parameter the broader perspective of health, as advocated as a citizen right, the health care of the LGBT population should not be considered only from the viewpoint of epidemiology. Above all, the conditions and social representations associated with the LGBT population should be observed, understanding that the health problems of these population segments are largely socially determined. Initial training of health professionals and continuing education must meet this social demand placed by GLSBT community.
