This study examines the personality and contributions of Chief Obafemi Awolowo to socio – economic development of Nigerian between 1948 and 1966.. The study found out that Chief Obafemi Awolowo was a Nigerian nationalist and statesman who played a significant role in Nigeria’s independence movement during First and Second Republics. The study notes that Chief Obafemi Awolowo was thrice a major contender for Nigeria’s highest office. He was a key player in the intra-party power tussle that erupted in 1962 that led to disturbances in Western Region House of Assembly. Also, the study examines major challenges faced by Chief Obafemi Awolowo and how he eventually became the Federal Commissioner of Finance and the Vice Chairman of the Federal Executive Council in 1966. The study employs primary and secondary source materials including books, journal articles and other scholarly publications to interrogate the study. It concludes that Awolowo was responsible for much of the progressive social legislation that made Nigeria a modern nation today.

Nowadays, ageing in a healthy way is one of the greatest challenges of our era. The management of emotions is a powerful predictor of psychological well-being and health during all periods of life. However, to date, such evidence cannot be extended accurately to the older adult population since young adults have been the primary target of valid and reliable measures. Therefore the aim of this article is to analyse the validity and reliability of the Trait Meta Mood Scale (TMMS) in a sample of middle-aged and older adults, and its relation to personality traits and subjective well-being. Findings show that the TMMS represents a useful tool in examining social and psychological adjustment of older adults. The TMMS-22 will allow the analysis of emotional regulation development, explaining differences in psychosocial adaptation and perceived emotional competence. Finally, a TMMS for the older adult population is a complementary resource to the ability measures of EI and encourages increasing awareness of emotional abilities and self-evaluation in an individual.

Providing quality of care (QoC) to older adults in residential care settings is an ongoing challenge given the increasingly complex needs of this population and the escalating economic constraints within which health authorities operate. While the implementation of the residential care delivery model in a Western Canadian health authority has contributed to some improvements in QoC, it has also highlighted key challenges that are both interpersonal and organizational in nature; specifically, gaps in leadership, teamwork, mentorship, and communication, as well as staffing mix, staffing consistency, resident complexity, and competing policy and program initiatives and directives. The implementation of a major change in care delivery impacts residents, families, and staff and may, in turn, impact their perceptions of change in QoC. When evaluating a model, therefore, it is important to examine both qualitative and quantitative outcomes: stories from those most affected in their everyday lives and trends in QoC indicator data.

This research presents a web-based Postal Service Tracking System for an efficient and effective Postal Service Delivery. The software will help keep track of freight or parcel as they are being delivered from one place to the other. Most times the delivery of packages involves transporting them across long distances with several stops that may lead to the mix-up or possible misplacement of the packages enroute. The advent of Barcode or Quick Response (QR) has greatly assisted these efforts, to track mail from the time it arrives in the mail room to the time it is delivered to its intended location for pickup or delivery. In this research a Barcodes and QR identification techniques were used in the system to help identify and track packages. The system was implemented using Bootstrap for the front end, PHP for the business logic and MYSQL for the backend on an Apache server.

Present panorama of the sequence of operators classes with their associated functional calculi , relevant in semigroup theory : the sequence of operators of halfplane , strip ,sector and parabola-type . It is shown that the basic results in the theory of C0-semigroup (the Hille-Yosida and the Trotter-kato theorem) follow easily from general functional calculus principles by Markus Haase [9] . The introduction of parabola-type sequence of operators allows to treat cosine the sequence of operators functions by functional calculus methods .

The purpose of this project is to share the finding of study and advocate the need for the administration of Federal Polytechnic Oko to undertake the issue of providing Water to the Polytechnic community as paramount and the solution to the receding Iyiocha lake which could useful in the provision of water. The poor state of water and sanitation facilities in the campus particularly the permanent site is a major factor for the declining health and the reduction in productivity among the students and staff. The major water and sanitation related ailments reported in the school apart from malaria are diarrhea and worm infestation, which indicates that water and sanitation facilities are inadequate in the campus and to ascertain the cause of solution to the receding lake. Therefore, there is a need for such facilities to be provided and upgraded in spite of the environmental consequences of the receding lake which is to be (-1.1) due to environmental impact, also in the rainy season to observe good contribution of water from the lake to the ground water ,as it ceases to discharge to the Lake during rainy season. This paper investigate an approach based on Ant Colony Optimization to identify optimal size, number, cost and placement of D-STATCOMs in radial distribution systems. Objective functions integrating power loss, voltage deviation and cost minimizations are solved by Ant Colony algorithm developed in MATLAB. This algorithm is tested on the IEEE 33- bus system and on a real distribution network of SBEE (Beninese Society of Electrical Energy). As results, it is observed that losses are reduced to 22.42 percent for IEEE 33-bus system with five D- STATCOMs and global installation and operating estimated cost of 3546762.35 dollars in first, and then, losses are reduced to 61.63 percent with four D-STATCOMs and cost of 2493146.29 dollars for a real distribution system of SBEE.

Aim: The objective of the study was to assess pharmacists’ counseling practices from the patient perspective using the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) Medication Counseling Behavior Guidelines (MCBG) questionnaire. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study conducted over 4 months in the outpatients section of the pharmacy department in two tertiary care hospitals: King Abdulaziz Medical City, Riyadh, and King Fahad Medical City. Participants were randomly selected to complete the USP-MCBG questionnaire, and gave their full consent to the data collector. USP-MCBG questionnaire is an interactive approach between the patient and the pharmacist, which takes into account the patient’s special needs, beliefs and perceptions about medication use .The questionnaire included 33 items with a two-point response scale. The questionnaire was divided into four sections corresponding to the four stages of the medication counseling process. Results: During the study period, 520 subjects were enrolled and of these, 486 responded to our questionnaire (response rate: 93%). The study population was gender balanced; most respondents (88%) were Saudi nationals, and 49% reported having at least high school education. There were no differences between the socio-demographic profiles of participants at the two study sites. The overall mean USP-MCBG score of satisfaction was 3.18 ± 0.11 (highest score is 5). Within subsections of the questionnaire, ‘Management of treatment’ scored the highest (1.14 ± 0.05) and ‘Communication’ scored the lowest (0.35 ± 0.03). In terms of medication counseling, more than >80% of patients had a positive perception and were satisfied with the performance of outpatient pharmacists. At almost all stages of the counseling process, there was a slightly inversely proportional relationship between patient age and satisfaction with pharmacist performance.Conclusion: Using the USP-MCB guidelines, patients’ perception of and satisfaction with pharmacists counseling in the outpatient setting was positive.
