An Algorithmic Random-Integer Generator based on the Distribution of Prime Numbers

Research Article of Research Journal of Mathematics and Computer Science An Algorithmic Random-Integer Generator based on the Distribution of Prime Numbers Bertrand Teguia Tabuguia Ph.D. student, Computer Algebra, Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Kassel, Germany, Heinrich-Plett-Str.40, 34132 Kassel We talk about random when it is not possible to determine a pattern on the observed out-comes. A computer follows a sequence of fixed instructions to give any of its output, hence the difficulty of choosing numbers randomly from algorithmic approaches. However, some algorithms like the Linear Congruential algorithm and the Lagged Fibonacci generator appear to produce “true” random sequences to anyone who does not know the secret initial input [1]. Up to now, we cannot rigorously answer the question on the randomness of prime numbers [2, page 1] and this highlights a connection between random number generator and the distribution of primes. From [3] and [4] one sees that it is quite naive to expect good random reproduction with prime numbers. We are, however, interested in the properties underlying the distribution of prime numbers, which emerge as sufficient or insufficient arguments to conclude a proof by contradiction which tends to show that prime numbers are not randomly distributed. To achieve this end, we use prime gap sequence variation. Our algorithm makes possible to deduce, in a binary choice case, a uniform behavior in the individual consecutive occurrence of primes, and no uniformity trait when the occurrences are taken collectively. Turning complexity into clarity: polyuria and hypernatremia

Case Report of Global Journal of Urology and Nephrology Turning complexity into clarity: polyuria and hypernatremia Awad Magbri, MD, FACP, Shaukat Rashid, MD Surgery and Vascular Center at Regency Park, LLC, Toledo, OH Case history The patient is 65-year old African American male with history of hypertension. He was admitted to hospital with lethargy, disorientation, and confusion. His clinical evaluation and CT of the head revealed subarachnoid hemorrhage. He had h/o stroke 5 years ago. The patient didn’t have fever, but did have a diarrhea of 1-day duration. He is receiving parenteral feeding and his urine output is 4L/day. His physical examination revealed blood pressure of 100/70mmHg, with heart rate of 100 BPM. He has dry mucous membranes and the rest of examination was unremarkable. His laboratory investigation showed sodium 159meg/L, K+ 4.6meg/L, chloride 114mEq/L, HCO3 26mEq/L, creatinine 1.9mg/L, Blood urea nitrogen 64mg/L, and glucose 200mg/L His urine sodium 70mEq/L, and urine osmolality 380mOsm/Kg H2O. His volume status is slightly dry, and he weighs 70Kg. Case discussion This case illustrated several information including polyuria with parenteral nutrition, low blood pressure and dry mucous membranes denoting low extracellular fluids volume. High serum sodium, and high urine osmolality in the face of hypovolemia and hypernatremia. As a consequence of his illness he suffered from low perfusion to the kidneys with worsening kidney function. Hypernatremia is a common electrolyte abnormality and defined as a serum sodium >145mEq/L (1,2,3). Hypernatremia is hyperosmolar state caused by a decrease in total body water (TBW), relative to electrolytes content (4). Therefore, hypernatremia is a water problem not sodium problem. It often occurs in elderly and hospitalized patients with restricted access to water and in those with impaired thirst mechanism (hypodipsia/adepsia) or mental status changes. Developing hypernatremia is virtually impossible if the thirst mechanism is intact and water ...

A Study of Insects Attracted to Selected Baits in Awka, Anambra State, Nigeria

Research Article of International Journal of Animal Research A Study of Insects Attracted to Selected Baits in Awka, Anambra State, Nigeria Ekejiuba Emeka Emmanuel, Ewuim Sylvanus Chima and Ogbodo Chinenye Vera Department of Zoology, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Nigeria Insects attracted to five selected baits which includes; honey, sugar, dry fish, stock fish and cray fish in two environments were studied in Awka, Anambra State, Nigeria using funnel trapping technique. T-test was used to analyse the relative abundance of the insects collected between the two environments at 5% significance level. The individual insects collected were identified into four (4) orders, six (6) families and (8) species. A total of 495 insects were collected from the study and the total number of insects attracted to the field (295) was higher than that collected from the store (200). The results further showed that out of the four insect orders captured, Hymenoptera recorded the highest number of insects in both environments (346), while Lepidoptera had the least number of insects (13). Paratrechina sp. was the highest insect species collected throughout the study with the relative abundance of (25.25%) while Galleria mellonella was the least species collected with the relative abundance of (2.63%) and strictly associated with the honey bait. There was no significant difference between the insect orders attracted to baits in the two environments (P=0.16).The present research linked the high number of captured insect species to the foraging activities on the baits. HEAMATOLOGY AND SERUM BIOCHEMICAL INDICES OF GROWING RABBITS FED DIET SUPPLEMENTED WITH DIFFERENT LEVEL OF INDIGOFERA ZOLLINGERIANA LEAF MEAL

Research Article of International Journal of Animal Research HEAMATOLOGY AND SERUM BIOCHEMICAL INDICES OF GROWING RABBITS FED DIET SUPPLEMENTED WITH DIFFERENT LEVEL OF INDIGOFERA ZOLLINGERIANA LEAF MEAL Alagbe, J.Oa and Oluwafemi, R.Ab aDepartment of Animal Nutrition, Sumitra Research Farm, Gujarat, India. bDepartment of Animal Science, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Abuja. Nigeria This study was conducted to determine the hematological and serum biochemical parameters of growing rabbits fed diet supplemented with Indigofera zollingeriana leaf meal (IZM). A total number of Fifty (50) growing rabbits of between seven and eight weeks of age were randomly assigned to five treatment groups in a completely randomized design. Each group was replicated five times with two rabbits per replicate. Five experimental diets were formulated such that T1, T2, T3, T4 and T5 was supplemented with IZM at 0g, 2.5g, 5.0g, 7.5g and 10g respectively. Feed and water were provided ad libitum and the experiment lasted for 8 weeks. The hematological parameters determined included pack cell volume (PCV), hemoglobin (Hb), red blood cells (RBC), mean corpuscular volume (MCV), mean corpuscular hemoglobin (MCH), mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration (MCHC), white blood cell (WBC) and its differentials while those of serum biochemical indices are: total protein, globulin, albumin, cholesterol, serum glutamic pyruvate transaminase (SGPT), serum glutamic oxaloacetate transaminase (SGOT). Results on hematology revealed that there were no significant differences (P>0.05) in the values of PCV, RBC, MCV, WBC and its differentials. Hb, MCH and MCHC values were significantly (P<0.05) influenced by the dietary supplementation of IZM. All results on the serum biochemical parameters showed that there was no significant (P>0.05) differences among the treatments. It was concluded that dietary supplementation of IZM up to 10g/kg had no deleterious effect on the hematology and serum biochemical parameters of rabbits. NEGLIGEE LUXATION OF THE CARPO-METACARPIANA DORSUM OF THE FIFTH FINGER WITHOUT FRACTURE ASSOCIATED: ABOUT A CASE

Case Report of American Journal of Orthopedic Research and Reviews NEGLIGEE LUXATION OF THE CARPO-METACARPIANA DORSUM OF THE FIFTH FINGER WITHOUT FRACTURE ASSOCIATED: ABOUT A CASE J.Amghar, M. Yahyaoui, M. Benhammou, S. Aharram, O. Agoumi, A. Daoudi Orthopedic Trauma Department A, Mohammed VI University Hospital, Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy, Mohammed Premier University, Oujda, Morocco. Traumatic carpal-metacarpal dislocations without associated fracture are rare lesions and their dorsal component is exceptional. Untreated, these lesions can lead to joint instability and early joint degeneration. We report the case of a dislocated dislocation of the dorsal carpo-metacarpal of the fifth metacarpal in a 26-year-old man. On clinical examination, the patient had a rotational defect with a limitation of adduction (radial inclination). The imaging assessment revealed a diastasis between the base of the fourth and fifth metacarpals, accompanied by the dorsal dislocation of the base of the fifth metacarpal. The treatment consisted of an open reduction maintained by racking. The joint was immobilized for 6 weeks. At 14 months of follow-up, the patient presented no pain and had resumed all her activities without any embarrassment. Keywords: Carpo-metacarpal dislocation; dorsal; neglected, open hearth ...
